What to Expect

At the first visit to the orthodontist, a clinical exam is done along with an X-ray to determine the best course of treatment. If you wish to continue at our office, additional diagnostic records such as plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, will be taken at a second visit. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss the treatment plan with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case. If you have a child you have specific orthodontic concerns for, Dr. Hayes prefers both parents be present to discuss the treatment plan and required cooperation. This will be scheduled approximately two weeks after the diagnostic records are taken. At this visit you will decide whether or not to proceed with treatment.
